Items.dat is an encoded file that can be found. in the games resources. It is encoded using ECB mode BLOWFISH-Compat with the code "moth-king".

The file contains information about all items, including ones not added or not implemented in the game. In Xbox/PS4/Mobile versions, the item sprites are totally different than the PC/Mac versions (ex. Upgraded tools).

This page is mainly for reference and to see all (un)implemented items.

File format

• Illegal: Used for contraband; 1 for Illegal.
• Gift: The amount of opinion increased when given to an inmate. The opinion given is the number displayed times three.
• Decay: The amount of durability in percentage that will be removed upon the usage of the item.
• Info: The descriptions an item has. This feature is presumed broken, as pressing SHIFT and hovering over items doesn't show any information; the information is shown on some items like food items, medikits, medicine bottles and tools, but it is separate from the Info itself.
• Desk: Whether or not the item is spawned in desks; 1 for true, 2 for true, but rare.
• NPC_carry: Whether or not this item is spawned in the inventory of NPCs; 1 for true. This option includes both inmates and guards.
• FAT: The amount of fatigue removal this item gives on use.
• Buy: The standard price that the item can be bought for; the price goes up and down based on the trader's opinion level.
• Craft: The number immediately displayed is the intellect level required to craft the item separated from the first item by an underscore. The other items appear right after separated by a comma and a space.
• HP: The amount of health points restored after using this item.
• Weapon: The weapon level of the item, which improves the damage you deal in the combat. The max level is 5.
• Cutting, Chipping, Digging, Unscrewing: The level at which it performs the task. The max level is 5, but the Cutting Laser Watch has it at 50.
