Before you even entertain the thought of escaping, let me remind you that even if by some remote chance you make it past the fence, the wall, the perimiter jeeps and the guard checkpoint, there's no surviving out in the wild beyond.

Jungle Compound is the fourth map present in the game, preceded by Shankton State Pen and succeeded by San Pancho. It has a difficulty of moderate, which is more challenging than most. The map features an outdoor prison surrounded by a dense jungle. This map might be based on Pathet Lao prison camp in Laos.

The prison holds 10 inmates, 5 officers, and 4 tower guards. The prison also includes a warehouse with Sheet of Metal and Timber. Each cell houses 2 inmates.

You will discover the surrounding jungle too thick to navigate, causing you to search for other paths of escape. Near the southern edge of the map, there is a checkpoint with a gate and an armed guard. In order to escape, you must provide the officer with Signed papers. Once approved, the gate is opened and your escape is complete. It is also possible to simply create a tunnel which goes under the gate (while wearing a guard uniform) since the guard wont notice you digging.

Jungle Compound also has its own unique free time music.

Overtime Delivery[]

Suggested job: Library or Mailman


1.Create a Bed Dummy.

2.Find Roll of Duct Tape and Magazine to make a Poster.

3.Grab 5 Plastic Forks. Then go to the library.

4.Chip away the wall to your left, so you can get to the Maintenance Tunnel (Utility area)

5.Cover the hole up with a Poster. NOTE: To get rid of your wall block, you can either put it in the tunnel (to cover up a hole you will dig) or put it in a passed out inmate. Do this for the other wall as well.

6.Acquire a Cup, Bar of Chocolate, and a Lighter. Combine them into a Cup of Molten Chocolate. Or, get your physical stats to over 70 and get a good weapon!

7.Create a Wad of Putty and Molten Plastic.

8.Get your intellect up to 80+.

9.Find the guard with the Cell Key (Yellow Key) and take out him with the Cup of Molten Chocolate.

10.Craft the Cell Key with a Wad of Putty. This will give you a Cell Key Mold, and a Cell Key. Grab the Cell Key Mold, then combine with a Molten Plastic. This will grant you a Plastic Cell Key.

11.Put the Cell Key back into the pocket of the guard, or you will be sent straight to Solitary!

12.Do the same thing to the guard with the Staff Key (Red Key).

13.Create one more Poster and get 5 more Plastic Forks.

14.Chip the left side of the utility hallway, so you can get to the warehouse of unlimited Timber and Sheet of Metal. Cover the hole with a poster!

15.Get a Guard Outfit, and a standard Contraband Pouch or a Durable Contraband Pouch,

16.Acquire a good digging/chipping tool. Multitool will be the fastest, but Plastic Spoon, Sturdy Shovel, or a Sturdy Pickaxe will do the trick.

17.Collect an Exotic Feather and a Jar of Ink. Keep these in your desk or in the tunnel you make in step 18, these are important for you to escape

18.When the guards aren't looking, dig a hole going down to the underground in the utility hallway. Dig 18-20 (and not 10-12 because you will be at the Jeeps's roads and you risk to go in solitary...) blocks LEFT. You can use the underground to stash your contraband items.

19. Using Timber, make a lot of Timber Braces. The braces are used to support your tunnel. When it gets too deep, you can't mine anymore unless you put a brace.

So here is a list of things you need to collect:

1 Bed Dummy.

2 Poster (Magazine + Roll of Duct Tape)

8 Plastic Forks

2 Cup of Molten Chocolate (Lighter + Bar of Chocolate + Cup) OR a good weapon

2 Wad of Putty (Tube of Toothpaste +Talcum Powder)

2 Molten Plastic (Lighter + Comb)

1 Good digging/chipping tool (look at "How to Escape" number 16).

1 Exotic Feather

1 Jar of Ink

The Escape:

1. At evening Rollcall, after the guards call names, put a Bed Dummy onto your bed.

2.At Lights Out, grab everything you need: Your Plastic Cell Key, Plastic Staff Key, the Contraband Pouch and Guard Outfit. (Wear this before leaving your cell.)

3. Go to the library. The door should be locked with a yellow key, which could be unlocked with a Plastic Cell Key.

4. Go to your tunnel.

5. Grab your Exotic Feather and Jar of Ink. Drop the Contraband Pouch down, then grab your digging tool. Your inventory should be filled up with two keys, jar of ink, exotic feather, and your tool.

6. At the end of your tunnel, dig up. After digging, you will get Dirt, then put the dirt in the hole, so it gets filled up.

7. Careful of the jeeps; they shoot you! Go to the edge of the map, then go north. There will be a place with green beds.

8.Use your Plastic Staff Key to open the door. On the top of the desk, there'll be some Unsigned ID Papers. Combine the paper with Exotic Feather and a Jar of Ink. This'll get you ID Papers.

9. Go to the south of the map, there will be a single guard who inquires for papers. Give Checkpoint Charlie the ID Papers, then the gate is opened.

10. Escape!

Patience is the Key[]

1: Get your strength and speed up to 60. Also get your intellect to about 60 or 80.

2: Make a Sturdy Shovel over time, a Bed Dummy, and also an Exotic Feather (just a feather in console) and Ink, and Molten Plastic (Comb/Toothbrush + Lighter) + a Wad of Putty (Toothpaste + Talcum Powder). You will also most likely need a Contraband Pouch.

3: Eventually dig into the area in the Library, and a good idea is to get that job too. Get into the 4-tile area with the ladder and also dig into the area with unlimited Timber and Metal.

4: Once you have a good weapon (Baton, Super Sock Mace, etc.) and enough strength and speed, beat up a guard until you get the Red Staff Key. You will need high intellect for this. Make a Staff Key Mold with the key and the putty. Return the key to the guard quickly and make a Plastic Staff Key with the Staff Key Mold and Molten Plastic.

5: At night, you should have your Plastic Staff Key, Ink, Exotic Feather and Sturdy Shovel in the 4-tile area by the Library. If they are in your desk you will need a Contraband Pouch.

6: Make sure the Bed Dummy is in your bed. Leave Evening Rollcall when you know who the shakedowns are but do not stay the whole duration. Try not to be caught leaving and grab all 4 of your items. You can leave the Contraband Pouch now.

7: Go in the unlimited supply room and use the Plastic Staff Key to get out of there. Go all the way left and down and then dig underneath the wall. DO NOT GET CAUGHT BY GUARDS NOW.

8: The Sturdy Shovel should be enough. if you need a Timber Brace you can easily make one with your infinite supply.

9: Fill the hole you made on the other side with the Dirt. Go all the way up and hug the far wall. Make sure the guards and jeeps don't spot you. Go inside the small building at the top and find the Unsigned I.D Papers. Combine them with the Ink and Feather to make the Signed I.D. Papers.

9: You can drop everything except the I.D. Papers and the Guard Outfit in the top building. Go down to the opposite side and make sure to NOT GET CAUGHT. When you see the checkpoint give the guy the papers and you're out!

Small Window of Opportunity[]

things you will need:

1 utility key mould

1 molten plastic

1 guard uniform

1 or more digging tools of your choice

1 signed I.D. papers

1 bed dummy

1: Make a bed dummy and place it in your bed at evening roll call

2: Before the doors lock, get out and go to the utility room behind the generator (get in this room any way you want). You can turn off the generator to shutdown the contraband detector and the camera in the room with the ID papers.

3: Start digging east for 5 tiles or more then dig up. (dig up during the night to not get caught by the guards)

4: Put on your Guard Outfit.png Guard Outfit and run as fast as you can to the southern outpost (keeping off the road to not be seen by the jeep)

5: Present your papers to the Guard.

Risky Speedrunner[]


This way is risky, but relatively quick!

1: Get your strength and speed up high, preferably to at least 60.

2: Get 2 Wad of Putty.png Wad of Putty and 2 Molten Plastic.png Molten Plastics.

3: Knock out the guards with the Cell Key.png Cell Key and the Staff Key.png Staff Key (needed to enter guards quarters north of prison), and make the plastic keys after getting enough intellect and a guard outfit.

4: Get the Contraband Pouch.png Contraband Pouch or Durable Contraband Pouch.png Durable Contraband Pouch.

5: Get the materials for the Multitool.png Multitool.

6: Get two Timber.png Timber for a Timber Brace.png Timber Brace.

7: Get the Jar of Ink.png Jar of Ink and the Exotic Feather.png Exotic Feather.

The Escape:

1: After evening roll call, grab your Bed Dummy.png Bed Dummy and place it on your bed.

2: Get the Jar of Ink.png Jar of Ink and Exotic Feather.png Exotic Feather and place it right outside the contraband detector.

3: Grab the Multitool.png Multitool, the Contraband Pouch.png Contraband Pouch, the Timber Brace.png Timber Brace, and the two plastic keys.

4: Put on the Guard Outfit.png Guard Outfit.

5: Go through the contraband detector.

6: Drop theContraband Pouch.png Contraband Pouch and the Plastic Cell Key.png Plastic Cell Key, as those are unneeded and pick up the Exotic Feather.png Exotic Feather and the Jar of Ink.png Jar of Ink outside.

7: Go right up to the white door and wait for the guards to leave and for no one to be around.


9: Once you've dug through and you're inside, cover the hole above with dirt.

10: Listen for the jeep. When you hear the jeep pass, dig two times forward and then up.

11: Cover the hole with dirt and go into the Barracks.

12: Get the Unsigned ID Papers.png Unsigned ID Papers and craft the ID Papers.png ID Papers with your Exotic Feather.png Exotic Feather and Jar of Ink.png Jar of Ink.

13: Go down to the station, give the papers, and you're done!

(Console and Mobile only) On The Radar But Undetected[]


Procedure: At lights out, go up to the north of the prison and cut the fence next to the white door, Making sure you have placed the Bed Dummy.png Bed Dummy in your bed and are wearing the Guard Outfit.png Guard Outfit. Go through the fence and replace it with the Fake Fence.png Fake Fence. Head north and break into the guard barracks with the Crowbar.png Crowbar while the camera isn't looking. Place the Poster.png Poster when you've broken the wall. Craft the ID Papers.png ID Papers and go outside. Walk around to the bottom of the prison and give the guard the ID Papers.png ID Papers to escape.

Speedy Gonzalez[]

This method will break you out of prison in one day, although the timing of everything is rather tight. First off, know how to save scum like any good criminal. You can rewind time if you go do whatever you please while, say Dinner, is going on and if show up at the last moment, see the save icon, and then load the save, you will appear at Dinner with everything you have done while away and the clock is rewound for you to continue going wherever you want. And also note that the strategy relies on a slight bit of luck.


While doing aforementioned save scumming everywhere you can, scour the desks of the inmates until you find a Metal, Feather, Ink, Putty, a Bed Dummy, Molten Plastic, and Duct Tape. By about 16:00, try to have 80 intelligence and 50~60 strength so that you don’t flail uselessly against the guards. Craft your Plated Inmate Outfit and you’re ready to go!


Using the showers as a base against snipers, lay out all of your items there and smack a guard. Loot the Baton, Guard Outfit, and tie him up to make sure he has no dignity. Equip the baton, put the police outfit to the side, and continue beating up any guard that shows up along with duct taping them and leaving them in the showers. Continuing along this method, try to have a lockdown trigger by 18:00 and the warden’s note by 19:00. By now, you should be able to find the guard with the Staff Key out of the mound of your victims, craft a duplicate, and run up north with all the items you left in the showers. Look both ways before crossing the street and use the duplicate to make it into the guard’s quarters. Make the ID Papers, put on your police outfit, strip off everything else as you go, and give the papers to Checkpoint Charlie. If all goes well, then you should walk out on the first day at 22:00 with an evil smile coating your face.


  • In the Mobile/Console versions, there is no perimeter jeep, making the prison easier to escape from.
  • Checkpoint Charlie will scream 'YOU SHALL NOT PASS!' if you approach him while dressed as an inmate. This is a reference to Gandalf's famous quote from The Lord of the Rings.
  • Tropical fruits are exclusive to this prison.
  • the line: "Welcome to the Jungle" mentioned in the wardens letter to the player is a reference to the song of the same name by Guns N' Roses.
  • Checkpoint Charlie himself is a reference to the border checkpoint between East and West Berlin of the same name.
