The playable character in the game currently has 3 stats, each of which has a maximum level of 100.
The values of these stats can be viewed for the player by pressing the P key. Moving the mouse cursor over the bars will show you their numeric value. The player's stats will gradually decrease over time, requiring the player to continue training in order to maintain them. When sent to solitary, all skills drop by a hefty amount.
STR (Strength)
Determines the character's maximum health. At level 100, the maximum health of the character is 50.
To increase their strength the player will have to work out using the weight lifting bench in the prison's gym area.
SPD (Speed)
Determines how often a player attacks when fighting a prisoner or guard. A higher Speed decreases the time between attacks, effectively increasing the player's damage. Does not affect running speed.
To increase their speed the player will have to work out using the treadmill or yoga mat in the prison's gym area.
INT (Intelligence)
Determines which items can be crafted by the player. Each crafting recipe requires some amount of intelligence before the player is able to craft the item. It is also needed to work in the Metalshop (70 pts)
To increase their intellect, the player will have to read books in the library (Fhurst Peak and Stalag Flucht) or use the computer (Center Perks)
OPN (Opinion)
The player itself does not have this stat on their profile screen. Rather, every other character in the game has a value for this, which denotes their opinion of the player. Characters that have a low opinion of the player are more likely to attack without being provoked. A character's opinion of the player can be improved by giving them items. When opinion of inmate reaches 90 and more, you can hire him. He will be able to attack any inmate or guard if you started fight. Items marked as contraband appear to give the largest gain to this stat. Chatting with guards/inmates boosts their opinion by one per each quote they say. Declining a favor is -10 OPN, however saying "Maybe" doesn't affect anything. OPN is also decreased when an inmate is kicked out of their seat by the player, seat or exercise equipment. OPN degrades by 2-3 per day.
